The name of Dr. Özgür Tokan, who made valuable academic contributions for many years in the Department of History, Faculty of Letters, and who recently passed away, will now live on in our faculty.

On April 17, 2025, with the participation of Rector Prof. Dr. Orhan Uzun, Dean Prof. Dr. Aslı Yazıcı, academic and administrative staff, and students, an opening ceremony was held to name classroom ED-K1-10, located on the first floor of the Mehmet Akif Ersoy Classroom Building, as the “Dr. Özgür Tokan Lecture Hall.” During the ceremony, speeches highlighted his academic legacy, contributions to students, and the respect he earned among his colleagues.

The name of Dr. Özgür Tokan will continue to live on strongly in the memories of his students and the academic community.
