Mission and Vision
The Bartın University Department of History is made up of lecturers who have historical knowledge and skills, are able to make objective evaluations, and aim to convey their knowledge and experience to the next generation in the most accurate and up-to-date manner. Our mission is to acquire a sufficient level of history knowledge in our students who prefer History Department, to acquire comparative approach and analysis ability with the help of different disciplines besides reading, understanding and interpreting skills used in historical researches.

The curriculum of the department is planned to cover different areas of world history as well as Turkish history. For this purpose, besides the Ottoman courses, classical languages ​​such as Arabic, Farsi and modern languages ​​such as English are given as optional courses throughout the undergraduate course in order to comprehend the subject areas adequately. On the other hand, in our department, there are also activities outside the discipline of history as part of our students' preparation of postgraduate life after graduation. In short, we aim to make our students a good educator, an individual capable of working in many different professions, and able to perceive the changing world and position itself accordingly.
