The Department of History at Bartın University Faculty of Literature, together with the History Club, is preparing to host an online conference focusing on key milestones in Turkish intellectual history.

Prof. Kurtuluş Kayalı, well known for his in-depth analyses of Turkish sociology and intellectual history, will meet with students and academics in the event titled “An Overview of 20th-Century Turkish Intellectual History.”

The conference will examine the transformations of Turkish intellectual life, major intellectual movements, and historical turning points from the Republican era to the present. Through Prof. Kayalı’s original perspective, a broad intellectual map of the 20th century will be presented.

The event will be moderated by Prof. Yenal Ünal. Expected to offer valuable insights in terms of historical methodology and intellectual history, the conference will be held online via Zoom and is open to all participants.
